It’s not often that you get to witness the highlight of someone’s life. But you just have. That’s right: more than 1,267 read that post on Gawker about me (or, rather my Essence video). They read the words “promising talent”! They saw a picture of my face!   They saw my name spelled wrong! Maybe they wondered what a twelve year-old midget could possibly tell them!  But they glanced at the article. Oh, how they glanced, those 1200.  My 1200.  And for a few seconds, my face occupied a bundle of neurons in over 1200 people’s brains–nudged right between “remember to TiVo Lost” and “what’s that stain on the wall?”! I like to lay in bed and think about those 1200 people. I just want to email every one of them and ask them what they thought of my face. I want to know if they’re glad that I’m alive, somewhere out in the world, typing this to you. Is this fame?
