PRESIDENTIAL ACCESSORY: The Veto Pen

The Veto Pen: Putting the “Fun” back in “funding an interminable war”

President Bush has vowed to veto the Democrat’s war-spending bill tonight, which includes an October deadline for the withdrawal of troops from Iraq. According to the New York Times: “The White House said that Mr. Bush would wield his veto pen shortly after 6 p.m. Eastern time…” The novelty pen (above) was purchased in an El Paso, Texas Dollar $tore ($1.10 with tax) and lights up both blue and purple. The pen is a bit top heavy, but it’s nothing compared to the vibrating Pac Man pen the President used to veto that stem-cell bill. In preparation for the signing, Bush replaced both the batteries and the ink cartridge. “I would say to the Democrats that I wish it didn’t have to come to this,” Bush said of the veto. “But I don’t. This pen is freakin’ awesome.”
